December 20, 2004 Trek Day 3

>	A Map of the Masoala Pennisula where we treked. We started of in Antalaha, took at Taxi -brousse to Marofinitra and then hiked to mpokafo which two two days. Then we hiked from Ampokafo to Antanadavahely where we got on a dugout canoe to Ambohitralanana. After spending the night in Ambohitralanana, we took a taxi-brousse back north to Antalaha.

So these first few pictures were actually taken at the end of December 19, Trek day 2. However, I failed to change the date and time of my camera to the local time, and forgot to move these to the correct folder. This is where Trek Day 3 truly begins.

	Where are we? Tanindrazana, FahaFahana or Fandrosoana?
	Here we are in Ampokafo where we spent the night. They had this nice shelter built for travlers. It was just outside the village by the river, a fast improvement over sleeping in the village square.
	The day starts with a nice long ascent up and over the mountain.
	Up and over the mountin, into the rainforest.
	Celeste found a nice bannana leaf fan.
	River crossings got deep with stron currents, especially with the rain.
Trek Day 4 begins here. (I know its weird, I tried to fix it but apparently messed up this day.)
