Raven addes duct tape to make a duct tape shoe mold
Trace the pattern of the foot onto paper
The duct tape mold is cut off the foot
The duct tape mold is cut into pieces that will be used to make the pattern pieces
The bottom of the foot is slightly adjusted and the pointing toe added for the shoe
Some Rolling is needed to get the pieces flat
Don't forget the seam allowance
Once you have your pattern pieces, it's time to cut out your shoe out of leather.
Leather used is 2-4 oz vegtable tanned leather
Punch holes on the edges of the pieces to make sewing easy
This is the position to sew the vamp with the sole
My shoes alreaedy look like slippers. Now it's time for the first fitting session, wear the slippers around wet
These are the heel pieces.
There is a little heal pieces that gets sewn with the back of the shoe. After this is sewn on, it's time for the second fitting. Wear the shoes more, wet.
Barge glue is applied
After the glue dries, you fold over the leather and pound with the mallet on a shoe anvil
The heel is glued to the back of the shoe
The bottom of the shoe is dremeled where the leather was folded over
Now we trace out the sole, which is made of 6-8 oz vegtable tanned leather
The soles of the shoe were sanded before gluing
The sole is glued on
Remember to keep leather damp when working with it
The shoes are ready to be dyed
